Honeywell is a diverse manufacturer of many home and commercial products. In this review, we'll be looking at one of their popular home air purifier models - the Honeywell HHT-090 Permanent HEPA Air Purifier.

Traditionally, Honeywell have used highly sophisticated technology to rid the air of any nasty particles which may have been floating around. This however, comes at the negligence of style and design in many cases. So - when we ordered the Honeywell HHT-090 Permanent HEPA Air Purifier, we were keen to see whether or not the design department had woken up from their dream state yet, or whether they were still pushing out more "ugly" prototypes.

Filtration Functions
The Honeywell HHT-090 Permanent HEPA Air Purifier contains a washable HEPA filter - and this is the only source of direct filtration which is employed by the machine. This is to be expected however, because of the design features we will talk about in the next section.

Additionally, this model sports an ionizer - which is a post-filter device capable of charging the remaining particles in the air so that they become sticky. Of course, you won't notice any change in the air quality, but dust particles which were too small for the HEPA filter will stick to anything they come in to contact with - effectively indirectly eliminating them from the air.

Design & Style
This model from Honeywell takes on a "tower" design, whereby air is sucked in one side of the tower and pushed through the machine - eventually coming out the other side. The tower itself is very compact - and there is only one color option here, which is black. This means that the Honeywell HHT-090 Permanent HEPA Air Purifier can basically be placed anywhere you like, as black is the most neutral color to mold in with the surroundings.

Because of the lack of advanced stages of filtration on this machine, there is only one accreditation associated with the Honeywell HHT-090 Permanent HEPA Air Purifier. That is the true HEPA filter guarantee - which provides reassurance that the filtration quality does meet the standards of HEPA filtering.

Effectiveness
The recommended room size for the Honeywell HHT-090 Permanent HEPA Air Purifier is 169 square foot - significantly less than many other home air purifiers. There are a number of reasons for this. Firstly, the design is extremely compact and quiet - meaning that it can only process a certain volume of air at one time.

Operating in the pre-determined 169 square foot room, the air will be completely recycled 5 times every hour - which is an excellent rate. Expanding the size of the room obviously slows down this cyclic ability.

There is no denying the fact that the Honeywell HHT-090 Permanent HEPA Air Purifier is an excellent air filtration device for a home setting - but it does fall short of an all inclusive air purifier. For the price, which is currently under $200, we can't help but think that consumers are able to score an incredible bargain when buying this product. Overall, 4 stars from us.
