This product, with a recommended retail price of just over $200, represents excellent value for money on the surface. But when put to the test, will the performance live up to the high expectations that we already have? Let's find out.

The Honeywell HFD-130 Germicidal Air Purifier utilizes state of the art HEPA and IFD filtration stages, to trap harmful molecules which are freely traveling around in the air. When you breathe these particles in, they can manifest in to things such as allergies, asthma, and eczema for an unfortunate proportion of people.

There is also an on board ionizer on this product, which means that the air will not only be cleaner, it will feel and smell cleaner too.

Design & Style
As we initially stated, the design of the Honeywell HFD-130 Germicidal Air Purifier is very futuristic. It could almost pass for a mini space ship - and your guests will be sure to comment or question what that "interesting" device in the corner is.

Thankfully, Honeywell (the manufacturer) has chosen to use a color scheme which is very pleasant on the senses with this model. There is a brushed silver, curved front, with a black bar and grill at the top and side.

Accreditations
Despite the price of the Honeywell HFD-130 Germicidal Air Purifier, this model has won numerous awards for its performance and efficiency. It has been awarded the energy star rating, as it consumes just 60 watts of energy. There is also a 12 hour timer on the device - which is useful for saving power during the day when no one is home.

Effectiveness
With three power settings on the Honeywell HFD-130 Germicidal Air Purifier - low, medium, and high (not surprisingly) - the machine is able to purify a room which is approximately 200 square feet in size.

In our independent air quality tests, we found that the effectiveness of the machine was second to none - and were impressed by the performance of the HEPA and IFD filters.
