Filtration Functions
The Honeywell 18155 SilentComfort Air Purifier essentially has two filtration stages built in. The first is a HEPA filter, and the second is a carbon filter.

The HEPA filter works by trapping extremely fine particles, such as dead skin, dust mite excrement, and pollen. This is achieves by the micro fibers which are used to construct the HEPA filter. These fibres essentially impede the thoroughfare of tiny particles, and permanently stop them from passing through the stage of the machine.

The second filter - the carbon screen, presents a sticky surface which all air must pass over. Remaining particles which were missed by the HEPA filter - such as smoke and chemical residue, stick to this filter, and therefore cannot pass.

Design & Style
We've had varying feedback on the design of the Honeywell 18155 SilentComfort Air Purifier. Some people thought it looked like a clothes rack, whilst others thought it resembled a juice maker. One person even thought it looked like a pool cleaner!

The manufacturer states that this air purifier works in areas which are up to 197 square feet in size. Our test room was 240 square feet, which is well over the recommended maximum. We soon found, however, that the air quality analysis on this larger room was exceptional once we turned the machine on.

For that reason, we would go as far as saying that this air purifier can be used in any small to medium sized room with success.
